Dear Friends

Ok, I am going to totally cheat and steal a blog-post from a friend about our adventures from last weekend!

First, some background...When David and I moved to Atlanta during the summer of 2008 we were anxious to find a church and make some friends. Within a few weeks, we attended Grouplink - about the most awkward but oddly successful way of creating small groups - and joined a group with four other couples, becoming instant friends. The funny part is three of the four couples had all gone to UGA together (with the exception of Sal, who went to South Carolina but dated Taylor most of the time he was at UGA) and were already best friends. You would have thought we would feel like outsiders but it was truly amazing how we just slid right in with them as if we had always been friends. From camping trips to game nights to talking about God's word, they were always there and so the decision to move to Houston was that much harder knowing we would say goodbye to these amazing friends. We had only known each other for about a year, although it felt much longer, and we didn't know how our friendships would withstand the distance.

But friendships like ours do not just fade and we have been lucky enough to see them four times since moving to Houston. Even though we aren't moving back to Atlanta, it feels just as special to be closer (within driving distance) to them again. And then this past weekend, one of the couples - John Neal and Hailey - came to visit and stay with us! We had such a fun time, not doing anything particularly exciting but just spending great quality time together. They are one of those couples that we literally don't stop laughing with and I was SO thankful for this fulfilling weekend!

Since Hailey is pretty much a professional photographer, I let her take all of the pictures last weekend. So to see where all we ate (and we did a lot of that) last weekend, check out Hailey's blog. You are probably going to want to bookmark it anyways since she takes awesome pictures!

PS - Two weekends ago we attended a beautiful wedding in Austin, TX but I am still trying to post an awesome video from it! Hopefully will share it soon!
