This trip was prompted by our desire to see the Heels play UT in the brand new Cowboys stadium on Saturday, Dec. 19th. This was going to be the inaugural basketball game in this 1.3 billion dollar stadium and we just had to be a part of it! After purchasing our tickets to the game, we decided to make it a romantic getaway/early Christmas present to each other by spending the night in a fun hotel and going out for great meals! All in all, we had a fabulous time and Dallas has become one of our new favorite cities. Check out some of the pictures....
Words honestly cannot describe the enormity and opulence of the new Cowboys stadium. Pretty massive.
Notice how the screen is bigger than the court. Wouldn't you watch it more than the actual game? David had to keep reminding me that we were there to watch the actual game.

Then David convinced me to take a behind the scenes tour of the Texas Rangers baseball stadium.

Then it was on to dinner at this awesome place called "The Place at Perrys." We told them that we were celebrating our 1 1/2 yr. anniversary and they brought us free champagne!

On Sunday, we went to a fun brunch placed called "Breadwinners" and then walked around the campus of SMU. It was so pretty!
Then we tried to go visit George and Laura Bush. But sadly, the gate was locked outside their street. Although we did drive up and down the street for a while hoping to catch him on a run.
And lastly, a pit stop at Buc-Eees, known for the best restrooms in Texas. I would have to concur.
It was a quick trip but we managed to cram in a lot of fun activities!!! Now only 2 more days until we head back to NC for the holidays! Can't wait!
