Bathroom Makeover = $0

Our bathroom is a great mix of NEW - toilet, sink, etc. and OLD charm - a painted clawfoot tub. We decided to keep the unique midnight blue paint color and although I initially did some shopping to find a new shower curtain and bath mats, David quickly vetoed them all. Thus we decided to stick with our trusty light blue shower curtain and monogrammed bath mat that we have used for 2 years. The only actual cost in this room was buying two new shower curtain liners (about $6 each), which then required me to hem them since the tub is raised.

So, the bathroom was pretty easy to knockout. The living room is still a major project underway. And I am hoping to work on the guest room next week. My first guest room project was to spray paint this old orange screen

in order to turn it into a white headboard for the guest room.

Here it is after the first coat. To turn it into a headboard, I am going to saw off the short "legs" and turn it on its side, bolstering the panels together. Then it will be mounted to the wall!

Most of the house projects will be on hiatus this weekend as David FINALLY takes the CFA exam all day on Saturday and then we are playing with his parents and Melissa all weekend to celebrate David's 26th birthday! I promise to post pictures of our weekend fun. In the meantime, enjoy one final picture of the destruction of our back porch (remember the tree in our backyard a few weeks ago??). This was actually fixed today, but we will need to put a fresh coat of paint on it soon!
